Charlie McClendon

Workshop Presenter

Brother Charlie McClendon has been preaching the gospel for over 50 years. (Minister) Walter Cox, Jr., at the Westside Church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida, baptized him in 1962. He began preaching a few years later under the mentorship of Brother Walter Cox.


He served as the Assistant Minister at the Westside Church of Christ and as one of the elders for several years. He also preached at the Miller Street Church of Christ in Orange Park, Florida, for 4 years. In June 1973, Charlie McClendon became the full-time minister of the Northside Church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida, where he is still laboring.


Brother McClendon has participated in lectureships and conducted gospel revival meetings and workshops nationwide. He had the distinct pleasure of preaching in the Holy Land in 1997.


With Brother McClendon’s specialty being Personal Evangelism and Church Growth, his talent and skills are in constant demand nationwide. He has also conducted Leadership Training, Discipline Workshops, and Gospel/Revival Meetings from the east to the west coast. When he is in the office, along with a host of other duties and responsibilities that come along with being the Senior Minister of 1500 members, he is busy counseling, preparing for workshops, organizing new ministries and outreach programs, and planning the next phase of the congregation's building program.


Brother Charlie has been married to the former Ida Walker for 65 years. They are the parents of two sons, three daughters, and a host of grandchildren and great-grands.
